The PLAY!
In March, 2007, two classes from the Sint Joseph Instituut in Torhout, Belgium, performed a stage adaptation of Richard Scarsbrook's novel Cheeseburger Subversive

The play's run included 6 performances in Torhout, then two road shows at the Astor School for the Arts and the Grammar School for boys in Dover, England.

The play was expertly adapted and directed by Jan DeCorte and Joost Swaenepoel, with assistance from driector Robert McCrae and musical driector Dirk Fraeman, and was performed with great skill and energy by the large cast, who received laughter and applause at every performance!

Richard Scarsbrook and his wife Nicole came to Belgium from Canada to attend the performances, and were very impressed with every aspect of the production.
Because of the intense performance schedule, two versions of the same play were produced, with most actors playing a major role in one production and a minor one in the other.  The talented cast included Aaron Bruneel, Jasmina Dekrem, Michael Moyaert, Deborah Dekrem, Jan-Willem De Vriese, Bieke Bostoen, Gianni Vanhaelemeesch, Michiel Rogiers, Delphine Pauwelyn, Charlotte Vandewalle, Elien Forrier, Coppenolle Alexander, Laurens Baert, Vaidi Plovie, Lisa Van den Meerschaut, Mattias Vandendriessche, Nico Decaluwe, Kristina Voronina, Thomas Clauw, Schari Rogiers, Bram Canniere, Sofie Vermeersch, Sofie Vanslambrouck, Annelies Noë, Ann-Sophie De Maertelaere, Dries Dekeyzer, Dries Vancauwenberghe, Evie De Pauw, Liesbeth Callebert and Valerie Boen.
